Board of Regents Meeting

A public Board of Regents Meeting was held on May 13th to discuss two conceptual master plans for developing the University owned Brackenridge Tract in West Austin. The two plans, which were put together by Cooper, Robertson & Partners LLP, both include elimination of Lions Municipal Golf Course and an addition of a major residential/commercial development that is designed to help earn income for the University of Texas. The plans were reviewed by three Board of Regent members, along with Regents' Chairman Colleen McHugh. The Board heard public comments regarding their opinions on the plans and the locals voices were unanimous in developing a plan to leave Lions Municipal Golf Course untouched.

Max Adler, Assistant Editor at Golf Digest, stopped by Lions Municipal on April 21st to partake in a round with three "Legends of Lions." The early morning was perfect with the sun making its way through the old oak trees of Muny causing the greens and fairways to glisten as the morning dew still remained. Adler was joined by General Marshall, Billy Clagett, and Lloyd Morrison. The morning was truly special! Click below to read Max Adler's take on Lions Municipal and the memorable round at Ol' Muny. Lions Municipal is #18 on the map.
